Analyzing the choices from job seekers across the world's 12 largest economies, the study "The World's Most Attractive Employers 2011" (PDF) found Google tops among professionals with a business degree as well as those with an engineering background. This marks the third consecutive year that the search giant has been No. 1 in both the business and engineering categories.
27/9 Apple holding iPhone 5 event on October 4
The company sent an e-mail to select reporters earlier today, saying the event will start at 10 a.m. PT next week with an "executive presentation." Although Apple didn't specifically mention the iPhone 5 by name, speculation abounds that the company will unveil one, or perhaps two, iPhones at the event.

The Firefox 8 beta (download for Windows | Mac | Linux | Android) is the newest to be released with Mozilla's six-week development cycle, in which the organization's programmers update the browser with fewer but more frequent changes. That's caused indigestion for some slower-moving Firefox users, but Mozilla believes it's necessary to remain competitive and to bring new features to users in weeks, not months. Mozilla also has proposed a slower-moving Firefox.

Dolphin dives into iPhones
The Dolphin Browser made a name for itself on Android, carving out a space as a zippy alternative to the default browser while rapidly building a robust feature set. Dolphin for iPhone, released today, brings most of those features to iPhone owners. The most notable one is gesture-based browsing, which makes it the only iPhone browser to support custom gestures.
