Surfaces should be well prepared before applying paint, to prepare surface the following steps shall be taken :

1- Knowing the suitable circumstances for painting such as temperature, humidity and seasonal factors.
2- Knowing the kinds of surfaces. There are wooden, cement, glass and metal surfaces in order to test the suitable paint for every surface.
3- Number of paint coats: Paint coats shall be as follows:
    1- Preparatory coat / cleaning, abrasion and applying primer coat.
    2- Liner coat: Applying paste whether readymade or powder mixed with water plus abrasion.
    3- Final coat: Means the final finishing by applying a final coat with aquatic or organic oil emulsion paint as desired.
